The Proston Public Library is one of the six South Burnett Regional Council Libraries. The Library's Collection although not large, is comprehensive and includes many latest releases and books by best selling authors. The Collection consists of:- Talking books / DVDs (adults and junior) / fiction (adult, young adult and junior) / family history / local history / magazines / music CDs / non fiction (adult, junior, young adult) / picture books / board books for the very young and  newspapers

Library membership is free with no minimum joining age. Adults may borrow up to 10 items, juniors 6 items, for a period of four weeks; one extension of time is possible if required, providing there is no reservation on the item.

The library has two public access computers with internet and WiFi. The South Burnett Libraries Catalogue and Databases can be accessed via the Library OPAC. Computer Bookings are for 30 minutes or one hour. Between 3:00pm to 4:30pm the bookings are for 30 minutes only. Photocopying and printing is available, charges apply. All South Burnett Regional Council accounts payable can be paid at the Library.

Tues to Thurs: 9:30am to 1:00pm and 2:00pm to 4:30pm
Friday: 9:30am to 1:00pm

A well stocked tourist desk displaying a wide range of brochures and local information is located the Library foyer area. Bookings for the Proston Community Hall can be made at the library.
