Sandstone formations
Rainbow rock is an interesting sandstone formation located approximate 4kms from Hivesville on the Wondai Road, on the left-hand side of the road. The formation is on a bend in the road and it would be unsafe to park in front of the formation. It is suggested that you park near Wilson Street and walk along the road to view the rocks.
If you are travelling from Proston you can also see a sandstone formation on the Wondai Road, approximately 3kms from Proston. If you park at Moloneys Road and walk along Wondai Road for a short distance you will see the sandstone formations which seem 'out of place' and something you might see by the sea.
